Belgium - Flemish Stew

Carbonnade Flamande: A rich & hearty stew of beef and beer followed by waffles, what could go wrong...

Ever since I saw the film In Bruges I had wanted so badly to visit Belgium and the fairytale town with all its canals and bridges and alcoves... When we did finally get there after a couple of trains from London Bruges did not disappoint - it was one big yet empty film set. For the record one of the highlights was actually the Frietmuseum.

The Challenge: Flemish Stew & waffles - Because waffles!

It had been quite a long time since Nah Leaps had created her glorious Irish Stew and I had whipped out my waffle maker so we were all quite excited for this challenge - imaging a similar flavour experience. Unfortunately my waffle maker died a stinky death mid waffle but pancake style waffle mix is just as delightful.
