Nasi Katok: No joke fried chicken is huge in south east Asia and we wanted to make our own with some spicy Brunei-style sauce.

Baby Leaps hasn't been to Brunei but Nah Leaps and I spent a grand total of 24 hours in this tiny country on two stop overs on a visit home to NZ. We managed a free tour and also paid for a larger tour just so we wouldn't waste our time in the airport. What a country! It's oil rich, clean and the people are incredibly friendly. We stopped off a a coupe of beautiful mosques, a street-food market, we had tea in the floating village and took shelter from a massive afternoon downpour watching the courtyard flood as we devoured the best KFC on the planet.

The Challenge: Nasi Katok - Because we have such fond memories of Brunei Fried Chicken. Yep, we call it BFC.

Nah Leaps makes buttermilk fried chicken when we beg so she sat this one out leaving Baby Leaps and I to muddle through and hope we didn't just blow our heads off with spice but also avoid salmonella poisoning. Fun. We went a little easy on the spicy peppers just in case...
