Bulgaria - Moussaka

Moussaka: The classic Greek dish done the Bulgarian way, without eggplant (aubergine) so all of us can eat it!


This was our first country-by-coach trip. Five of us got a bus from Skopje to Sofia for a couple of days in the Bulgarian capital where we were met with a down pour after down pour, a terrifying taxi drive and a trek to find a traditional Bulgarian restaurant.


The Challenge: Bulgarian style Moussaka - Because this was eggplant free and I am very picky about how I eat my eggplant.

I was excited to find out about a moussaka that didn't included layers of eggplant - the texture is weird and I am not a fan normally - this way included a layer potato so I was more than happy to assist Baby Leaps as and when she needed it.
