Makaronia Tou Fournou: A new spin on an old classic?
Cyprus is an insane country - how can one relatively small country offer so much! The history, the food, the culture... There was a fair amount of British-ness in central Paphos but ultimately Cyprus has way more to offer than resort towns. especially if you drive into the mountains or coastal villages or into Nicosia. I highly recommend a visit to Nicosia (we walked across the border), the tomb of the Kings and staying in the mountains - the views are stunning.
The Challenge: Makaronia tou Fournou - Because this was the only way to convince Nah Leaps to eat halloumi & pasta bakes are awesome.
Foolishly, I didn't expect the food to differ to much from that of the Greeks or Turks but actually Cyprus can hold it's own. It has plenty of from both, and British food can be found in cities easily but we wanted to try something that we hadn't seen elsewhere & it had to include halloumi.
